I am 6 weeks post birth of my baby and noticed orange peel skin on my breast as per the attached picture.

I am not breast feeding but was trying to express.. I have now stopped pumping and haven’t pumped for 4 days.

I have googled the orange peel skin and scared myself. Does this look like orange peel skin to you?

could there be any reason for this skin?

i have seen the nurse at my doctors and she said it’s just pregnancy related but I am very concerned and cannot stop thinking about it.

I don’t think that’s anything to be concerned about

That looks completely normal to me. Do you have health anxiety? I think it can be worsened after the birth of a child.

I can't see any orange peel skin on your photo.

However, if you feel your breast had changed, it would be sensible to have it looked at. It's almost certainly hormonal because you've just had a baby.

My children are older but does the post birth check up with a GP still happen. I seem to remember booking a GP appointment for around 6 weeks post birth. You could ask then.

I think the orange peel skin they say to be concerned about has more obvious dents in it. Yours doesn’t look dented, maybe the skin has stretched a bit in pregnancy meaning the pores/follicles are more visible but that’s all. (No stretchmarks though, lucky!)

If you were pumping but stopped suddenly there is a risk of getting engorged and blocked ducts/mastitis so do be careful. If you want to stop pumping it’s best to do it gradually, unless you were only doing a tiny bit.
