Had my son 12 weeks ago, had PPH at birth and bleeding lasted 2 weeks, eager to feel human again I had sex as soon as the bleeding stopped, very slowly, but midwife said it was fine as long as I'd stopped bleeding.
Anyhow, now 12 weeks PP and I've just come om my first period and omg, it's so so so heavy! Not heavy enough that I'm soaking through pads but heavy enough to be dripping out of me whilst I was showering and whilst using the toilet. It's bright red colour and noticed a few little clots, what was your first period like after birth? Something doesn't feel normal but everything I've read indicates to get in touch with your Dr if you're bleeding so much that you're soaking pads/ tampons, but ither than that it's normal? RL stories needed please 🙏 does the colour matter? When should I start worrying if it doesn't slow down? TIA

I had my 2nd child 17wks ago and on my 3rd period since. The first one was horrific and lasted almost 2 weeks. I hadn't even finished bleeding after birth fully before I got the first period. Like you OP, there were clots, blood running out of me and I was going through pads ridiculously fast.
The second and third have been very very heavy, but only lasted a few days. I'm very surprised how different it was than after my first birth (first was a vaginal birth, second was CS) and from how they were before I had kids.

Thank you for answering, is it normal to be bright red in colour?

Bright red periods are perfectly normal. I just thought I'd reply to your post for reassurance
