C section Recovery

So I'm 19 weeks postpartum, I had a very traumatic birth, I ended up needing a emergency c section and transferred to a completely different hospital, so I wasn't prepared for a c section.
I'm just wondering what's normal, my scar has healed lovely never had any infections and it's nearly faded. However I do have a over hang, just haven't had the motivation to lose the baby weight🙈
The overhang hurts as if it's still bruised? Is this normal?
Also my not like anyone wants to know but did anyones bowels get messed up? I've been to the doctors they did a stool sample and that came back negative so they say it's ibs I'm constantly running to the toilet and I definitely wasn't like this before😞

No I don't think it's normal to still be painful after 19 weeks. Messed up bowels can be normal too as they've spent 9 months being bounced on by a baby along with hormone changes, then may have gone into shock during surgery (although mine were already messed up so I'm not sure how much is normal).

Yeah I thought that's what it is the doctors have said ibs, and it's not really painful however if I press down on my lower belly under my belly button it just feels bruised, I can do everything but just when pressing on the area.

Took me ages to recover from my c-section. My scar still looks terrible, it’s healed quite badly. And it’s crooked! But, I don’t mind that much...
The area was tight & painful for over a year. I couldn’t walk at a pace for a long time. Since I finished breast feeding & lost the baby weight, it’s a lot better now. Just takes longer to recover, for some, I think.

Maybe I need to start doing some exercises it might make it feel more normal🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm not in loads of pain I haven't been since about 6 weeks, just when I press on my tummy or when my LO sits on it which probably isn't making it any better.

At 19 weeks pp I would stay that's still normal re your stomach, it can take up to a year to heal from major surgery. I've had 3 csections the last was 6 months ago, and I definitely still had/have tenderness.

18 weeks post c section here and lower part of tummy still feels tender. Some days it’s much more noticeable than others. I remember from my first section that it takes many months for the soreness to go completely and then I was left with numbness for a longtime, I’m guessing at least a year.

12 weeks post emergency section and I still have the over hang and tenderness. Sometimes it feels like the anesthetic wearing off after being at the dentist. I didnt put on much weight if any during the pregnancy but still feel sore in my jeans because of my pouch.
I find if I over exert myself my tummy swells up for a few days after.
I have a wedding next week and I'm dreading it.
I havent done much core/ weights exercise but a good bit of walking this month.

Oh Thankyou everyone, I thought I was going mad, I'm literally the only person I know that's had a c section, so I don't know what's normal or how it should be feeling. It does feel weird just like a big bruise, I have to keep telling myself when I get a weird pain that I have just had a major surgery and everything's been messed with. I'm only a small person and I had a 8.8lb baby boy as-well so I'm still recovering and my body is trying to get back to normal.

Both of my sections I was in significant pain for 3 months and moderate pain for another 2 months.

Overall took me 6 months to be back to normal.
