Has any experienced this? I went for an X-ray and they’ve said my pelvis is still quite open at 10 weeks pp and it’s causing me agonising pain. The only solution they’ve given me is physio to get it back to normal, physio have given me some exercises and they’re not helping at all in fact some are hurting even more, I’m now 10 weeks pp and it’s just getting worse 😔 this is my 3rd baby and never experienced this before (always have terrible spd in pregnancy but it goes with delivery normally). I had my first csection with this baby though and they had to use forceps to get him out as he was wedged in (never had forceps used in previous births)- my biggest baby yet and delivered early. I can hardly walk, do the school runs, get up to tend to the baby in the night quick enough, do the food shop etc ..

Mummy MOT won’t see me as they’ve never heard of this type of pain I’m describing and worry they can’t help or suggestions make it worse. I can’t take decent painkillers because I’m breastfeeding 😢

Pelvic partnership website is a fab resource. You need manual manipulation by a physio, osteopath or chiropractor trained in this. Strengthening will help, but only once everything is back in alignment. I hate to say that breastfeeding will keep everything a bit 'loose' and 'soft' ligaments wise, so you may need a few sessions.

It was postnatal spd that made me find my osteo after my first baby. Sorted it in two sessions and then I saw her throughout my second pregnancy. Seriously amazing stuff.

Oh wow.. thank you very much! I never thought of an osteopath or chiropractor! So when you say they’ll manipulate me.. does that hurt? As I’m in so much pain already. Thank you again for the reply!

It shouldn't really cause more pain. It's more that they actually touch you (manually manipulate simply means using their hands to change things about, instead of directing you with words (like giving exercise 🙄)). It's like intense massage and the like.

There's a list of recommended practitioners on the pelvic partnership website, but anyone trained for pregnancy should be helpful.

I can’t even tell you how much you’ve helped me, I’m actually crying and have so much hope now that I might be out of pain and can lead a normal life again soon. I’ve messaged a recommended practitioner from the website.

Once again thank you so much for your help, it’s much appreciated Smile
