Hey all,

I'm starting onto therapy next week at 10 weeks post partum. I had a large baby 9.2lb and an episiotomy. I'm now experience some incontinence - particularly bladder control.
I understand I need to rebuild my pelvic floor strength but I'm really curious about how physio can help with the scar healing.
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?

Thanks a lot Smile

I had physio for incontinence issues. I found it really helpful.
I had been doing my pelvic floor exercises prior to going to the appointment but it turned out that I wasn't doing them correctly and was only activating my rectal muscles. This was due to a loss of sensation.

My physiotherapist helped me to identify the muscles I needed to strengthen and gave me an exercise programme. She also gave me a few techniques to make sure I was emptying my bladder effectively and not waiting too long to go and thus over stretching my bladder.

I found it very helpful. Good luck OP.

Congratulations on your new baby.
