Heavy legs after csection

I'm now 8wks pp after having my csection and ever since I got home I have had incredible heavy achy legs I have to push myself to do stuff to help the feeling pass or distract myself. I go on small walks every day and build up the distance each time and am walking quite far now but my legs just feel so heavy. It's really beginning to worry me now as they ache so much going upstairs and walking downstairs they shake.

Has anybody else experienced this? I'm worried it's something gone wrong because of my csection or muscle weakness?
(Only medication I'm taking is blood pressure medication so did wonder if it could be that too!) My doctor has been pretty useless so asking you guys for your advice/ experiences please.

TIA

Hello
Sorry I've no real advice but this wasn't something I experienced post section.
Are your legs swollen/any redness?
Might be worth mentioning to your health visitor? It might be something she's seen before?

I too had heavy legs some weeks after my EC. Even walking upstairs to bed became an aching, weary trudge that took all my energy. I was told "you just need to get fit again", but I already was fit, actually!
Then a nurse friend told me it was probably a mineral deficiency. Your pregnant body is building a new person so has to pull everything it needs from wherever it can including minerals from your muscle tissue. It's normal for that sudden fatigue and heaviness to kick in a few weeks after birth, whether you did it by C or by V. It's your body saying "I've successfully made you a DC now replenish me!"
I put myself on the highest safe daily doses of calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc, and after two weeks my legs were back to normal and ready for long walks with DD in her Baby Bjorn.
If your GP won't do your bloods and check for deficiencies, find a naturopath experienced in reproductive health. A good naturopath will give you a thorough check- up.
Congratulations on your baby!

@Icequeen26 may I ask how are you doing now? Has it resolved?

Ice had this before and it was fluid build up. Have they checked your kidneys?
