Formula preparation, sterile water or bottle water

Hi everyone!
In 3 weeks, I will give birth to my identical twins by c section at 36 weeks! Hopefully they won't arrive earlier^^ although I have many questions about c section, I have some questions about formula.
I am preparing myself to feed them with formula after a month of breastfeeding, however the steps to prepare bottles seem crazy.... where i am from, France, such bottles, previously sterilized of course, are simply prepared with bottle water that contains very low minerals, such as volvic. Nothing about boiling tap water, leaving it to cool down to 70 degrees, dissolving powder in this hot water and then cool down the whole bottle. With twins, i feel it will become quickly a lot of work!!
Thank you in advance for you help, and for your tips ^^

Infant formula powder is not sterile and should be made with water over 70⁰C to kill bacteria in the powder. Babies have got ill from contaminated formula powder when it hasn't been made up as directed

Before baby arrives formula prep seems like it'll be really confusing and time consuming - In reality it isn't!

Just get a Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine and it basically does it all for you in 2mins and makes bottle perfect temp for serving.

Failing that, boil kettle. Add hot water to the formula powder to kill the bacteria, swirl/shake bottle and then allow it to cool before serving. This takes a lot longer though and I wouldn't say it's fun to wait that long with hungry baby crying at you!

This guide describes how to safely bottle feed babies <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2008/02/start4life_guide_to_bottle_-feeding.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjpysu0t5v1AhUCQEEAHUaUC7UQFnoECDYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2NjfON3xgUVSohJLq5OXnf" rel="nofollow" target="blank">www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2008/02/start4life_guide_to_bottle-feeding.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjpysu0t5v1AhUCQEEAHUaUC7UQFnoECDYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2NjfON3xgUVSohJLq5OXnf

I'm also not from UK and we used a bit of freshly boiled water with the formula to kill of bacteria, and then topped up with evian water straight from the bottle. Couldn't be bothered with the whole boiling water and waiting for it to cool down faff.

Thank you for your help! I still haven't decided how we will prepare the bottles for the twins^^ I have a scan on Friday followed by midwife appointment, I will ask for her opinion i suppose :) boiling water, cool it down and put it in the machine seems reasonable, especially if the size of the filter in the machine is 0.22 microns (which sterilizes without boiling).
I will let you know!

For the perfect prep, I believe you just add normal cool water actually - no need to pre boil it. The machine filters the water and then it heats up a small amount to 70 degrees to kill bacteria in the formula powder and delivers that first into the bottle. It then tops it up with filtered cool water to the right amount and voila - bottle is ready for baby.

Hello!
Ah, it makes sense and it seems like a very good option! I was already worried about spending my days just to feed my boys^^ it seems more clear to me now!
Thanks for the help :)

If you can afford it just use the ready made cartons. So so much easier, especially with twins I should imagine!
