Has anyone tried a kegel exerciser or weighed exercise balls?

I have 2 DC and the youngest is a year old, I noticed that when I'm trying to get to sleep I can't get over without using the bathroom. I'm thinking of buying something to improve my pelvic floor muscles but not sure if it's worth it.

Has anyone tried it and see a significant improvement?

TIA

I have used the weighted balls. They were good and so is the NHS squeezey app. But if you can afford it the best thing I did was a programme called Holistic Core restore. It's run as local franchises but you get online access to the programme for life to keep practicing. It's really good.

Also if you can afford get a private referral to a women's health physio to check you're doing it right or get on the long nhs waiting list.

Thanks, I've been going to a personal trainer twice a week for 6 weeks now as i had a really sore back, I've been doing a lot of core work and my back is so much better. I'm definitely going to look at Holistic core restore.

I'm not sure if it's just a bad habit as I'm up so much in the night with kids i would just think oh I'll use the bathroom now so I don't need to get up again iyswim? I think i might buy the NHS app and see how it goes

This is really worthwhile. Once you’re doing kegels correctly they are very effective, but there’s a bit of a knack to it.

I used weighted balls but because I wasn’t releasing the muscles fully each time I was actually causing some of my own problems.

I've used the Elvie trainer (the one you insert inside) and it's been amazing post baby!!

I have the Elvie and it is really good but just such a faff to get into the habit of doing when you’re busy. I kept it up for maybe a a couple of weeks before life got in the way. Id recommend the nhs Squeezy app. It reminds you on your phone and guides you through the exercise. It’s a paid app but only a couple of £ and worth it!
