Passing grey tissue 4 weeks after ELCS

Hi,

I had a csection 4 weeks ago, in theatre I didn't lose much blood. I then had a huge hemorrhage when I was on the ward. I was given gas and air and had clots manually removed. Following that I had little/no loss for the first 5 days following the csection.

1 Week later I started bleeding again, relatively mildly and it's started to ease over the past couple of days.

Tonight I went the loo, had a pee and heard a "plop" in the toilet, it was a grey mass about the size of my palm. I panicked and after wiping there was pink/grey tissue, looks like stale beef (sorry if TMI)

I'm having no pain. I've had a miscarriage before and what was in the toilet just now looked similar to what I passed when I lost that pregnancy.

I haven't seen a midwife since day ten when she weighed my baby, no one has discharged us or checked my scar (it's infected and I've had canasten prescribed via phone consultation with nurse)

I'm quite worried, my stitches haven't dissolved and the wound is infected and now im passing tissue.

I don't even know who to call? Sad my midwife from when I was pregnant resigned and the surgery never replaced her

Oh gosh really sorry you're suffering like this. Post natal care is appalling and I've never been able to get through to anyone either. If I were you I'd call 111 and if you have no luck with that go to A&E.

I hope you get the care you need quickly!

Thank you, I'm currently on hold with the maternity unit because I wasn't sure if they could see me or advise me.. been number 1 in the queue for 15 minutes so hopefully I'll speak to someone soon

Sounds awful I hope you are ok, I had ELCS 2 weeks ago- call the hospital ward you were on-were you given the phone number when you were discharged? Failing that as above go to A&E

This could be a part of your placenta. Make sure that you speak to someone tonight. When this happened to me, I was kept in overnight on a drip, came home with antibiotics and was scanned to make sure that it was all out. All was fine after but I definitely needed to be seen. If they want to see you, take it in with you. I think mine travelled in a sandwich box!

There's no one available to take my call at the maternity unit so I'll phone 111

MAU keep hanging up after 20 minutes on hold. Not getting anywhere with 111 as they're so busy Sad

Go to A&E. You need to be seen to rule out anything serious. I'm sorry you're not getting anywhere with the maternity unit and 111

I’m so sorry this is happening it’s shocking. Did you flush the grey mass away?
I’d definitely go to a and e if I were you.
Also once you are feeling better please make a complaint about the care you have received it is not good enough!!
