Second degree tear not healed -12 weeks

Hello mama’s!
I had my daughter nearly 12 weeks ago and received a lightening bolt shaped second degree tear. It still hurts like hell.
I have been on antibiotics for two weeks and I started to feel a difference but now it’s hurting again. Hurting to the point of nearly crying every time I pee.
Ive been talking to my gp, health advisor and I’ve called the hospitals I’ve been referred to and I’ve been told it will be most likely a 3 month wait. 6 weeks to see if it’s urgent.
I don’t know what to do, I’m keeping it clean I’ve been calling the gp and hospital but they keep telling me to call the other and I’m just sat on a open wound that’s on and off infected !

I’m going to call the gp again tomorrow and 111 if nothing comes about it. Anyone have any other advice ? Anyone been in the same situation?

Gosh - you poor thing. Someone needs to take a look at it; they cannot just keep batting you back and forth.

Gosh that sounds really difficult. Could you contact the hospital you gave birth at? I often find midwives much better than gps at getting things done.

My midwife said I could always call them if I needed a chat after discharge. Is that an option for you for advice?

Sorry you are suffering!

Good idea, I’ll call the midwives at the midwife unit I gave birth at ! Thank you !

Been told by midwives not their problem and to call gp again, feeling totally exhausted with being fobbed off 😔

Oh that's so crap. Is it Obs and Gynae you're waiting to see? Do you have the option to go private? Not that you should have to obviously!

Ask GP to refer to gynae on call and demand that you are seen in outpatient clinic at the hosp. I had a 3B tear and an episiotomy that took its time to heal and was seen the next day by gynae.

I was in a similar position to you. It is so difficult being in pain and looking after a baby. I found it really hard to cope with both physically and emotionally.

The midwifes said it was too far after the birth for them to get involved, the GP said they couldn't do anything further and Gynae would said I had to wait for a routine appointment which could take a few months to come through.

My GP pushed Gynae further and they said if I was in pain to go to A&E. I was then seen by a consultant on the postnatal ward despite my baby being 12 weeks old at that point.

Hi all thanks for the responses,
I have managed to nag my way to be seen and got sent to the triage gyny.. was told to use a vagifem cream but go insisted using the tablets annoyingly and I reacted badly to them 😩
Went to gyny after that again and was promised a cream, so using that now. Looks like I have a granular wound so will take longer to heal, just so sad how long it has been to be looked at and everyone seems to want to pass me off to other people as not their problem. Postpartum care so far has been tiring and upsetting
