7 weeks PP bleeding keeps restarting!

I'm 7 weeks pp, third child. Last two it lasted 8 weeks so not too concerned but my question is -
If going for walks / exercise of any kind is causing dark brown lochia / discharge to keep returning after up to 5 days of it stopping , is it a case of if I crack on with the exercise it will finish sooner with it being dark brown so must be old blood? If I rest , is that going to just make it take longer to get rid of it all? I know it's a stupid question! Never any odour or pain etc, it's just so frustrating now!

This is just my opinion. I have no basis for this other than my own logic, but at 7 weeks pp, I reckon cracking on with being active will get it out of your system quicker. You're past the period where it's advised to take it easy, so being more active wouldn't cause any harm.

Mone has been stop start after a steady flow for a week. I'm 3 weeks PP now and it seems to start up again when I'm more active.

Yes same here, bleeding stops for a good while then out of nowhere it restarts, I'm 6 weeks postpartum.

I also have cramping and an awful swelling in my lower abdomen, painful and sore.

HumunaHey · 14/08/2021 21:02

@dreamingdream Have you spoke to anyone about the cramping and swelling? That doesn't sound right at 6 weeks pp.

dreamingdream · 16/08/2021 17:00

@HumunaHey I have spoken to my GP, midwives, the health visitor, 111, GP out of hours, A+E, family, different forums & everyone about my swelling and cramps for many weeks now. I have been in and out of hospital because of this swelling.Yes, the cramping and swelling does not seem right at all, I have no idea how to get this sorted. I phone the medical staff and sometimes I feel not listened to, it's like some of them do not care about me.

Thank you everyone! As of Friday night it seems I may have my first period back now 2 months after having my daughter, very heavy compared to what I was used to when ttc! After my first two I went straight back onto the mini pill and never really had periods those times, but hoping this is normal as this time no pill as had tubal ligation when I had my c section.

@dreamingdream Oh gosh I do feel for you - it's awful when it seems none of them are listening to you and you're concerned! I hope you get to the bottom of it all and are back to normal soon!

@dreamingdream That's awful! What have the GP, midwives, health visitors, etc. said when you've told them about this?

@cedarfox A bit annoying that your period is back already. Out of interest are you breast or bottle feeding? I heard periods come back sooner when bottle feeding but I didn't know it could be that soon.

CedarFox · 17/08/2021 15:17

HumanHey bottle feeding. I have a telephone appointment today with gp as last night was a nightmare - every time I got up to feed dd had to shoot to the bathroom as soon as I sat up and I'm just not used to them being like that, I'm also ashamed to say I'm a massive haemophobic and I really just can't handle so much of the red stuff 🤢
It seems to have been slightly lighter this afternoon ( I think ) actually managed to get my jobs done without as many rushes to the bathroom lol so I'm really really really hoping it's calming down! Xx

@CedarFox Gosh that doesn't sound nice at all. Sounds very intense. Hope your GP has been helpful x
