DS is 2months now and I've decided to put the sweets and chocolate and fast food away I started working out today in the front room really got into it and then neighbour came knocking that I'm disturbing her 😔😔😔 I don't have much time in the day as I need to look after my son how did you find time ?

I waited til baby was 8 months old and then used to go to the local park, and he’d people-watch whilst I did my stuff.

I really think that if it was in normal hours, then you are perfectly reasonable to work out in your living room. Can neighbour work in a different room? Or could you give her a heads up of your predicted workout time (baby ds allowing.)

I’ve started doing couch to 5k. It’s only 30 mins 3 times per week so it’s manageable to get my son watched. I started a lot a walking about 4/5 month pp & kinda up’d my game about 7m pp.

I signed up for a mum and baby exercise class (maybe one for once lockdown has eased). They had a childminder who watched all the babies in the corner whilst we did a workout. Got me fit and got me out the house, making friends etc.

I went to Buggyfit with dd2, it was really good. And lots of walking with the pushchair generally.

Your neighbour was being very unreasonable. I'd work out again but maybe keep the volume of music or TV whatever you use down a bit ir do you it in the garden. What about fast walking with the pram/buggy to xx

After DD was about 4 months old I felt I could get more active again. I walked for miles with the pram, I still do now. Sometimes I would do a low impact workout video on YouTube, you can find ones that are specifically ‘quiet’ to avoid annoying the neighbours.

I agree that walking is a great option. Download a good audiobook or listen to an interesting podcast to keep you motivated. Great for the baby to nap outside at that age too! If you want to work out at home I found that having the right program is vital. Download a good app that gives you a fixed number of doable workouts per week. The key is to start small-ish. If you commit to doing, let's say, three 15min workouts per week it would not feel overwhelming and will make you feel accomplished to keep the motivation going. Good luck!
