Picking a contraception- help!

Hello, so I've just had a really wonderful little baby and now need to think about contraception. The problem i have is all the ones I have previously tried (the pill(s) and the injection) have made me spotty, gain weight, go off sex or resent my partner Blush
My husband is happy to have a vasectomy in a few years time but we might want to try for another baby at some point during the next 2-3years. Because of this I also don't want to pick a long term solution and to be honest I'm a bit scared about the insertion and removal process of the coil. He is also happy to use condoms but it would be nice to not just rely on this avenue.
I appreciate this is subjective but if you have found a great solution what are you using and how do you find the side effects? Did you previously experience any problems with the pill? I haven't taken it for over 5 years so I realise there might be some new developments.
Any input gratefully received!

I had the mini pill, and since I came off it last month, realised that I think it did affect my libido! No other side effects, other than no period, which is good!
How about the implant? I've had this too and is great because you don't have to think about it for years. You can get it removed when you want to TTC. I only have positives to say about the implant. It stopped my periods, and that's it. Nothing bad.

I'm extremely lucky in that I've never had any problems with the pill. I was on Regevidon from when I was 16 until I came off it when I was 21 when my husband and I wanted to ttc. I never had any problems at all.

I had my baby then at the 6 week check I went back on it as I was exclusively formula feeding. I specifically asked for that one because that's what I was on so it seemed to make sense.

I had problems taking it. It made me feel sick and I couldn't take it. So I switched to Microgynon 30, and it was the best thing I've ever done. It was better for me in every way.

As I say I've never had any problems with weight gain or my hormones or anything else. I always make sure I take it at the same time every day. On my first pill my withdrawal bleeds were fine. On my second they were slightly shorter and lighter, it just works better for me. (I know I've been told in the past they are exactly the same. But I can't explain it. It was the doctor who suggested I change so I assumed there must be some differences). Now I take my pills back to back, without my week break. I do this for 6 months. So I take 6 strips in a row without a break. Then I have a break for 1 week, when I have my withdrawal bleed. Then I start again for 6 months. So I only have 2 bleeds a year, or a bleed every 6 months, as the months do not follow the calendar January to December.
It's brilliant and doesn't impact on me at all

I couldn't imagine having proper periods. I'd hate it. When I was off the pill ttc I hated it so much. Again I never suffered with my proper periods before I was on the pill, I had no cramps or anything. It's just the pill makes it much easier still. And I know it’s not recommended and I AM NOT suggesting that anyone else does this or tries this, but it works perfect for me so I’ll stick with it.

Stay well clear of the Rigidivon pill! I know it works for a lot of people but the side effects are horrific! I had the reverse situation to @happymummy12345, I was on Microgynon 30 from being 13 (to help with periods) and was on it till I was 18 and had absolutely no problems! I went for my contraception check up and a new prescription and the nurse told me id be getting Rigividon because it was cheaper for the chemists to stock. She told me it was exactly the same, just cheaper for the NHS so I should be fine on it. I took it for about 3 weeks and was ill with sickness, nausea, headaches and dizziness. I went back to GP and was told it was just body readjusting to the new pill (this confused as I was told it was EXACTLY THE SAME as Microgynon 30) I continued with it for about 2 month and symptoms got progressively worse so went back to my GP and told them I wanted something else. They put me on the Desogesterol mini pill and been on that for the last 6 year (apart from when I had DS) and I've had no side effects apart from very light irregular periods. Hope you find something that works well for you! X

I have the mirena, insertion was quick, not side effects and now no periods (took 6 months) not sure if it suitable if you may wish to conceive in 2-3 years as they last 5
