Problem piles!

So basically I gave birth last summer (June 2020) to my first son. I had a really long labour (approx 44 hours). Anyway I ended up mega constipated after my son's birth and before long I started experiencing pain when going for a poop 💩. Sorry to anyone if this is TMI!

I've been to the doctor's and they examined by bottom and told me I have 2 external piles. They've given me suppositories and cream on numerous occasions , but the pain is still there every time I go to the loo and sometimes I end up feeling sore all day and struggle to sit down. I've found the suppositories and cream only help with the soreness. I can probably only manage a few day's in a month without pain and then it returns.

I've been referred, but I'm going to be waiting ages to see a specialist. They said the wait pre Covid-19 was around 22 weeks!

I just wondered if anyone else is in a similar situation?

I too suffered with this after my first birth and even worse after second as my daughter was a heavy girl when I was carrying her. Post partum it is still continuing to be a pain in the arse (literally!) The only thing I've found which has helped is drinking a large amount of water each day.... It took about a week to notice the benefit, but now I've kept it up or doesn't hurt to go to the toilet anymore. I bought a 1litre bottle and try to drink 1-1.5 bottles each day. I was prescribed anusol but didn't really work too well.... Good luck. It does get better with time.

Drink plenty of water as it will make your poo softer and easier to pass.

I also found that mixing a few drops of lavender oil with milk and adding it to the bath helped loads. And you've probably already been told this one but wiping with baby wipes instead of toilet roll as it's softer

Try taking laxido daily too, having softer stools should stop it becoming as irritated when having a poo.
