Tongue tie

My baby was diagnosed with tongue tie after weeks of struggling to breastfeed and gain weight.
It was cut on Tuesday and there seemed to be some improvement to his sucking in subsequent feeds (where it was more deep ducks than not).
Since yesterday afternoon he seems to have gone back to his old ways of shallow latch/swallows and sleepiness.
I'm trying to feed every 2 hours during the day to increase my milk supply (and have just started taking domperidone to aid this).
Does anyone else have any experience of this?
Will it get any better?

Hi there,
I’m not sure with BF as I gave up before my sons tongue tie was snipped for various reasons. It was a couple of weeks after before I noticed a difference. He used dribble A LOT out the side of the bottle as he could get the suction but it did improve.

Eugh I went through similar. Honestly I don't think my DD ever really developed a great latch after her tongue tie was cut but it was good enough to get by with a little bit of topping up. I had to just stop worrying about it and stick the nipple in as far as I could without obsessing about how good or otherwise it was, for my own sanity. I still breastfeed her at 15 months and I watch her adjust herself every feed to make her latch shallower even now! So for some reason she must like it. I did find domperidone absolutely brilliant at increasing my supply again though. Good luck! And please remember that breastfeeding is a symbiotic relationship and you can only do your part. However it works out it really won't matter in a few years time, your little one will be their own lovely little person.
