Pelvic floor

Hey I gave birth 10 weeks ago, straight forward but very quick vaginal birth. Since I have struggled with incontinence, I wet myself most days. It’s very embarrassing, I have been doing pelvic floor exercises but it doesn’t seem to be improving. Does anyone have any advice, how long till my body is healed/when should I worry this is permanent? Also when trying to dtd it feels like a paper cut on the inside of my vagina (I only had 2 grade 1 tears during childbirth)

I think it’s probably an idea to have a chat to the GP. Download the NHS squeezy app while you wait for an appointment, it reminds you to do you PFE, set it to 3-4 times a day 5 second squeezes with 2 seconds rest. Remember to squeeze your bum hole as well as the Muscles are like a figure of 8. I hope things improve for you soon Flowers

Have you spoken to your GP? Mine out me in touch with pelvic floor physiotherapist and they’ve been amazing. You need to speak up now, get some support as they will get it all
Sorted for you. X

Thank you very much both of you, it seems I haven’t been doing the pelvic floor exercises correctly so will start doing them correctly. Will also speak to my gp (very embarrassing)

Please don’t be embarrassed to speak to your GP!!! They deal with this stuff all day every day and honestly it’s so common postnatally.

In France, every woman gets TEN sessions with a specialist pelvic physio to help them heal and re-tone the whole area after birth! It’s completely crap that in the UK so many women are left to battle on without help.

At ten weeks it’s still v early - after my first birth I had a lot of internal soreness and bruising that took perhaps 12 or more weeks to truly ease. But equally getting a professional opinion now would be a good idea. Please don’t put up with this alone

Solidarity - from one leaky mum to another!! Flowers

Good luck x

I’ve been using the Cleo Discreet pelvic toner and after a few days I can already feel a difference. I plan to keep on using it every day twice a day.
