Mysterious vaginal and urinary infection :(

Hello everyone,

I'm almost 4 months postpartum and I'm having a really horrid time.
I had a forceps delivery with 2.1 litres blood loss. The first four weeks I had a catheter in due to urinary incontinence.

A gynecologist said that I have a skin bridge and loose skin under the skin bridge where the episiotomy is and that my perineum needs refashioning. That surgery will probably be done mid to end January, but it depends on when they can book me in for an MRI.

My biggest problem is that for at least 2 months I had a vaginal/urinary infection that doesn't go away.

I have beige yellowish discharge every day.

I had several vaginal swabs done:

Swab 1: lost my gp surgery, swab 2: negative, swab 3: staphylococcus and mixed growth of different bacteria, swab 4: showed that there was an infection, but no bacteria could be grown.

I peed on the dipstick test for urinary infections at my gp several times and it always showed increased leukocytes.

A urine culture just showed mixed growth of organisms, which the doctor referred to as "contamination"

I have been on five different types of antibiotics: amoxicillin, coamoxiclav, augmentin, flucloxacillin, trimethoprim.

None of them made the infection go away.

I think the discharge comes from inside and not from the episiomy side.

I'm so worried that this will never go away and it really has a big impact on my mental health and makes me feel quite depressed. I'm so worried that this is something I now have to live with for the rest of my life.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions what I could do? How can I be healed from this if the bacteria that cause the infection can never be identified?

Thanks in advance x
