Chest pain after labour

Hi everyone. I had baby 27 days ago and since then had pains in my chest in the sternum, at first never thought about ut, thought it was to do with having the baby but it's getting no better, hurts when I push a certain place, breath in deep, walf to far or try to do something like hold baby at my chest. I saw the doc today about my stitches for antibiotics and mentioned about my chest but she brushed it of as reflux and to take Gaviscon and paracetamol...but it feels nothing like acid at all!
Has anyone had anything similar?

My stitches have got infected on the inside atm so on antibiotics.

I'm so pale, shivery, so hard to get/stay warm, keep getting swimmy headaches and loss of eyesight and feel absolutely drained in general...could that be to do with the infection?

I couldnt talk to the doctor really today because she couldnt wait for me to leave, standing at the door while I'm trying to say about those symptoms. Sorry for the long post just looking for some advice or reassurance.

How's your blood pressure?

I think your symptoms are worrying, especially given you’ve just had a baby. I would call OOH GP now. Flowers

Im not sure if it's good or bad but it was 119/80

It could be but it may not be. Please do not think you are making a fuss. You need to be seen and your symptoms need to be investigated. It could be anemia, the infection or something else. I do not mean to worry you but you do not feel these symptoms have been addressed. You deserve to feel comfortable and have your mind put to rest. You are entitled to a second opinion.

OP, please get seen tonight - A&E would be best. These symptoms sound like sepsis, in which case you need strong antibiotics (probably IV, so you'd need to be in hospital) right away. Is there somebody who can take you in straight away?

@Sunnytimes04, how are you doing today? I hope you did see someone, your symptoms sound concerning.

If you worsen (even if you cannot be specific - eg more tired) or develop shortness of breath, please don’t hesitate to seek medical attention again. Know that even out of hours there is OOH gp service, or A&E or ambulance.

Thank you everyone for your help 😊, I didn't realize it could be sepsis!, Thought maybe some bruising or just taking ages to recover or something but will try to get this sorted today.

I had a pulmonary embolism after my c section - showed as pain under my rib on one side, then getting out of breath when I walked/carried the car seat. I walked around with it for a couple of weeks but when the GP saw me it was “please go straight to A&E”.
