Post C Section stomach

Those who have had c sections did you ever lose the "pouch"?
DS is almost 11 weeks and I was naively expecting to be back into my normal clothes by now. I can't get to the gym just now and walking and healthy eating don't seem to be shrinking it at all

I've got about a stone to lose and had my section in July. I don't really know if I have a pouch or not, it's not perfectly smooth from above to beneath the scar so I guess I do, but not anything like what google images shows. I'm really struggling to lose the stone, but I do think that will help me a lot. Have you got some weight to lose too?

Yes I have about a stone and a half to lose I'm just worried because my stomach has always been my problem area even before my section. Mine looks very much like the ones on google images Sad

Google is usually full of photos really soon after a section. I think most fat goes to the belly/bum/thighs in late pregnancy for breastfeeding and shifting a stone or so will definitely help shed that and improve things a bit. Like stretch marks, I think it tends to be the luck of the draw Sad

11 weeks is not long at all (even with a natural birth you'd likely still have a bigger tum at this point) so I wouldn't worry about it now.

After my first c section I did go back to normal eventually but it took a little over a year.

I'm two years post my second section now and though the pouch has gone down, it's still there. Think I'd need to get a tummy tuck if I want to fix it. But I had two large babies with a fairly small gap between them

25yrs post section. Nope, still have the same pouch/overhang.

It definitely went, without much exercise, though took much longer than 11 weeks. Can’t remember exactly as it was 8 years ago. I was in those comfy over the bump jeans for months and I loved them Grin

I really wouldn’t worry yet

It's taken me 10 months to get back to normal. I'm fortunate that I didn't get a pouch, I guess it is just luck of the draw? But losing the pregnancy weight slowly and steadily has left me fairly happy with my body now.

Still had loose skin (flap?) A decade later. I think mine would need surgery as extra skin ( please note had this despite at times weighing less than pre pregnancy weight) . Think it depends on the person/ surgery.

I did have an apron-looking overhang but that did eventually go away. No evidence but anecdotally I think a compression wrap and compression leggings helped

Mine got loads better when I was going to the gym a lot. Sit ups help a lot and a tan to cover stretch marks.

I wish I'd taken a pic post birth because even though my tummy will never be the same it's only about 5% as bad as it was post birth. Post birth me would be overjoyed with how I look now!!!
