Do I just stop BFing?

No judgement please.

DC2 is 9 weeks old, he is mixed fed for various reasons but I have always breast fed at night and tried to keep the majority of feeds as breast feeds.

Anyway, the night feeding is taking its toll on me. He wakes for a feed at around 2am doesn’t settle again after, just cries and cluster feeds. It’s got to a point where I can no longer plan things for the mornings (outings, play dates, etc are a no) and I have a 3 year old as well. I feel so guilty for not being able to get up and have breakfast with my eldest and it’s always DH taking her to nursery. I think she is fed up with seeing so little of Mummy.

I’ve hit a point where I’m seriously considering buying a Perfect Prep Machine and giving up the BF for my own sanity so i can share the nights and be around more. Should I do this? Or stick it out and sleep train when my son is a little older? Can I expect things to ‘click’ and actually get better? Anyone else been in this position?

@hollylouise1994 sorry to hear you are having such a hard time.

I would say that your DC is still in the 4th trimester, so it will be intense until 12 weeks and then usually settles down to a large extent.

But ultimately you have to do what is right for you and your family.

Why don't you have DC dad do a feed in the middle of the night with formula etc to give you a break for a few nights?
