When did your periods return?

Hi ladies

I'm nearly 11 weeks pp and still haven't had a period yet. Im not breastfeeding so thought that they would have returned by now. Before being pregnant I was like clockwork each month and they always lasted 4 days...

So just wondering when other ladies had them return? I've heard the first one can be awful too so I fear the longer Aunt Flo doesn't make her appearance, the worse it's gonna be!

4 months but I was BF.

With my first I breastfed for 8 months and periods returned 3 months after I stopped.

With my second I breastfed for 3 weeks and periods returned 8 week later

Around 8 weeks. Was so heavy for a week then trailed off I thought that was it but came back even heavier for another week. A month later my period was back to normal.

I got mine back at 9 months but was breastfeeding.

2 years after my second child- I thought it was great!
My third is nearly 4 months and nothing yet.

It varies a lot. I breastfed, and my periods returned between 15-20 months with each.

The first ones back can be wonky, but maybe because mine took so much longer to come back, but with my first three they came back pretty light-normally.

They were far weirder with my youngest, lots of long gaps and heavy, but it turned out I had severe deficiencies in Vitamin D and a few other things. Once I started to take care of that, they went back to mostly normal (I used to get migraines around my periods as a teen that stopped as an adult, but returned after DS2. They've gotten much better with dealing with the deficiences and other health issues, but still tend to kick in at the end). As I said, it all varies a lot, even within the same person!

12 weeks, I didn’t breast feed. It wasn’t too bad. Slightly heavy & a bit crampy but it wasn't horrendous.

Thanks ladies very helpful

Because I'm not breastfeeding I should expect it in a couple of weeks or so then I suppose?!

As the weeks go on I'll start to have this niggling fear that I could be pregnant again! Even tho we've been careful and obviously using contraception 🙈😂 worst nightmare lol

I had mine at 14 weeks PP, and i'm not breast feeding. It was a bit of a blood bath for the first couple of days but honestly nothing compared to post partum bleeding.

wintertime6 · 28/09/2020 18:26

Mine came after 3 months. Then 6 weeks later I realised I hadn't had another one and just assumed they were a bit irregular once they started again. But it turned out I was pregnant again!

Nightmanagerfan · 28/09/2020 18:27

17.5 months. But I’m still breastfeeding so that probably explains it!

SqidgeBum · 28/09/2020 18:29

16 weeks. I FF from day one.

SqidgeBum · 28/09/2020 18:31

Also, my first 2 were very heavy and random, but almost painless. After they regulated themselves back to normal at about 5 months PP my pain was 10 times better than before I had my DD. I used to be crippled with period pain, but now I barely have to think about paracetamol.

Mine returned after 6 weeks with all 4dc despite exclusively breast feeding, I was not happy!
