Hi,

I gave birth via elcs 10 days ago, and have managed the recovery really well so far. My initial bleeding had eased off considerably, however this evening I am loosing a bright red mucusy/discharge like substance? Whatever loss I'd had up until now had turned brown however I'm concerned that we've now reverted too bright red again. There are no clots as far as I can tell, but there's a definite substance to some of the loss (...sorry TMI!!)

I've been moving round almost as normal the last couple of days, and did pick up my toddler yesterday inadvertently to put her in the bath.

Do I need too be concerned? I hate bothering GP/Midwife at the best of times, so just wanted to get some advice/opinions on if it's happened too.anhone previously. Thanks in advance!

I noticed that if I did a bit more, i.e lifting, going up/down the stairs I would bleed bright red blood and was told this was normal, and for me this went on for a few weeks. If you're concerned though I'd speak to your community midwife.

My bleeding went on for aaaaaages. The more I did in a day the heavier it was. I also had an ELCS.

No CS here but I was bleeding for weeks! For both DCs.

I bled bright red for most of the first three weeks as I recall. Then a week of more brown/late period type, then by the end of the month it was over. It's scary because it lasts so much longer than a period. If you're worried definitely call your midwife, even if you've officially been signed off.

Thank you everyone! I went to bed earlier last night and rested, and it seems to have dissipated quite considerably since. It's so annoying that physically I feel fine, it's just internally isn't quite as raring to go! Will take things easier the next few days and see how it goes ...you'd think second time round it'd all be common knowledge!! Thank you again 😊

I had two c-sections. The bleeding definitely gets worse when you do more physically. Mine was on and off for about six weeks.

I bled for 6 weeks after my elcs. It definitely gets heavier when you move around more. Mine was tailing off and suddenly came back with a vengeance around the 2 week mark, bright red and clots and all. Midwife wasn't concerned unless I was filling a pad an hour or passing clots bigger than a 50p coin. Good luck with your recovery.
