Told "no action required" I AM FUMING!

So since I got pregnant with DD I have suffered massively with pelvic pain and did report it at the time but nothing was done (this was about 25 weeks pregnant). I struggled to walk much and was told it's PGP/SPD. I just dealt with it because I had no choice.

DD was born and I didn't notice the pain after she was born. 3 months later I find out I'm pregnant again with DS. My pelvic pain came pretty much right away at about 6/7 weeks pregnant and it was a lot more intense. This time I was referred for a one off session with physio and a group physio exercise class which I didn't really find too helpful.

In the last 6/7 weeks of pregnancy I could barely do anything but I didn't really make a fuss as I felt like nothing would be done. Both babies were c sections so I didn't have to deal with that issue during birth.

This time the pain hasn't gone away. DS is 10 months and I struggle to walk, wash dishes and even carry the little ones up the stairs. I finally got the courage to contact my GP who referred me for an x ray.

The radiologist told me that he could see something didn't look right - something along the lines of my bones and joints are too close together. I felt like something was finally going to get done about it until I rang my doctors surgery today. The doctor who looked at my scan has said that there is no issue and no action required! AIBU to be PISSED OFF? I don't understand how the radiologist could see something isn't normal but the doctor couldn't! I'm waiting until Monday to book a telephone consultation with my GP to see the next steps.

Has anyone ever had a similar experience?

@JadesRollerDisco I guess so. But I need a second opinion imo. How can one say one thing and the other completely contradict him? It's sent me sideways Confused

The person who you are likely to have met when you had the X-ray is a radiographer (they specialise in taking x-rays, scans) rather than a radiologist. Radiologists are doctors who specialise in reading x-rays and they don’t meet the person who had the x-ray, rather they sit in an office and report them. The GP is unlikely to have had access to the actual x-ray itself and will Probably be giving you the report that they have received from the radiologist. I’d say it’s most likely you met a radiographer who was having a go at interpreting the x-ray for you to be helpful (partic if you had asked what it shows there and then). Might be worth you clarifying who you spoke to on the day and what their role was.

It may have been that the Radiographer recognised something “not normal” but the Radiologist analysed it and determined that even if something didn’t look quite right then it wouldn’t be causing your pain. So the “no further action required” was purely a comment on the X-ray results, not your pain. Remember, all X rays can really do is see if there’s an issue with your bone (and to a certain extent joints and soft tissue). There’s still a lot left that the x ray wouldn’t see that could be causing you pain.

Definitely insist on a follow up with your GP. Make it clear you’re still expecting answers and don’t let them fob you off. Unfortunately pregnancy/birth injuries often aren’t taken seriously and the fact that you waited so long to be seen will be held against you (even though it’s natural that you’d be hesitant about seeing a doctor after how you were dismissed in your first pregnancy).
