Just looking to see if there is anyone who can recommend anything I useful I can read up on about PND? My Dd is 5 months and the last few weeks I've really not been feeling myself and overwhelmed by everything. Would like to make a GP appointment but they aren't doing face-to-face, and I don't have anywhere private I could go to take a phone appointment. Any recommendations I would be massively appreciated x

Sorry you're struggling OP but it's a huge step to acknowledge you need some extra support so well done Thanks

I use SilverCloud for my depression and anxiety which was a result of pnd

Does your surgery have askmygp? You can correspond through messages/email if you prefer. Although they may want to still talk to you on the phone. Is there no way you can speak to them?

Thank you for replying.
I will look at the SilverCloud Smile
I don't think they do, they have merged with another local surgery over lockdown so they are all over the place right now.
The only time would be when I have DD with me and I don't think I would be able to have a talk without having to see to her. Would prefer a face-to-face appointment where I wouldn't be disturbed or distracted when trying to get across how I'm feeling x

I’ve just been diagnosed with pnd after blurting our how I’m feeling to the dr at my baby’s 6 week check up. She asked how I was and I just broke down. Does your baby have any appointments coming up? Do you have a health visitor? My surgery are doing phone appointments but you can get a face to face one if it’s urgent so could you do a phone one first then ask that dr if you can go in to see them? As it’s pnd I’d imagine them to be flexible due to the importance of you getting help.

Hope you feel better soon

I had quite bad PND at around 5-6 weeks and was fortunate enough to have a great GP and HV. Sertraline and private counselling helped but expensive! I then had another bout at around 6 months, could afford more private counselling so tried online therapy free on NHS www.iesohealth.com/en-gb I was sceptical but found it as good if not better than my private face to face counselling. Have a look it might work for you.
