Hi

After some advice. I'm nearly 6 weeks postpartum, normal low risk pregnancy and birth. Had a normal del with small second degree tear.
I've been feeling like I have a uti so handed sample to
GP's, they dipped it and nothing. Anyway sorry TMI I checked down there and felt what I'm positive is my cervix in my vagina. I'm besides myself, ringing gp for app tomorrow. Doing pelvic floors etc, so uncomfortable especially after I've been for a walk etc. It's really effecting my mood. Just wondering if anyone else has had this? And what treatment was, did it improve?

Thanks

Okay sorry you're going through this.

As it's before your 6 weeks check are you still officially under the care of the hospital you gave birth in? If you are them I would phone your midwife or consultant or even the A&E there and ask for a a check up and then referral to their physio dept.

If this doesn't apply then call your GP and ask for a referral to a pelvic health physio. It needs to be one specialising in pelvic health.

They will give you exercises to do which will help strengthen the muscles in your pelvic floor. If you need some online guidance now then look up Helen Keeble Physio on Instagram who gives excellent advice for a start. You will need to be assessed though so don't skip that part.

As you are only 6 weeks PP please know that all your tissue is still recovering and you are very very early stages. You will recovering for a while yet. If you are breastfeeding this also can postpone full recovery.
