C Section scar - 2 years on

I had quite a horrific birth by c section and a scar to prove it. However, it's been over 2 years and the wound is still quite red and tender. It also hurts to press on it sometimes.

Should it have become less distinctive by now or do I need a trip to the GP?

I've added a photo as it's hard to explain.

Just came across this after doing a search as my scar is really tender at the moment 5.5 years on!!! But if it is red that can indicate infection, have you been to the gp yet? I would prob go to the chemist first

Mine is similar almost 2.5 years on, I also can’t feel anything down there when I touch/no sensation and still quite red. Not sure if this is normal but not in any pain?

Mine is similar 14 years on.
It becomes infected (due to overhang) and can be painful.
It's very long though due to twins.

Silicon strips made the sore sensation go away, the colour fade and I got normal feeling back. Mine was a year ago, it’s very long and wonky on one side, hatchet job, and very bumpy in two places.

I still don’t like to touch it and felt very weird about putting anything on it but the lack of sensation above it and extreme tenderness below it bothered me so I wanted to try something and it really helped.

Sorry, to clarify, it feels completely normal now when I touch it but the thought of it still icks me out a bit, it’s psychological not physical.

Where exactly is your scar. Mine is below my bikini line. Yours looks further north

My scar is very faded and feels fine to touch, scar is now 3 yrs old. It's defo worth a trip to the GP if poss.
