Sorry for TMI!!!

Had my beautiful DS 7 weeks ago; lochia stopped after around three weeks post child birth.

I then had a very, very heavy period a week or so later. Was bleeding heavily for five days then just suddenly stopped.

I'm now having my second period, which again, is very heavy. Enough to have to change an overnight pad every hour. Also having slightly larger than normal clots.

Don't think it's retained product as I stopped bleeding at first and both felt like periods since but no cramping.

Should I be concerned? Anyone else had the same sort of issue?

Mine were all over the place for the first couple of months (every two weeks but just for a couple of days).
Are you breastfeeding? That could be affecting things

I'd make a routine GP appointment since it's so heavy (if they're painful, push for a sooner appointment) but chances are you need to wait for your hormones to level out.

Hi I have a 12 Wej old and am due my third period in a week postpartum! I had light 4 days periods before! Anyway after a haemorrhage at 2 weeks postpartum at 5 weeks postpartum I had very very heavy bleeding and once again went to hospital as was scared from first haemorrhage, they ruled out retained products etc and decided it was a period I bled for 15 days!! So so heavy, 2 weeks later (month from day 1 of bleeding) I had my next period! We were on holiday at the time (great!) and I bled the same very very heavy nothing like what I've had Before I also had bad cramps both times! I was scared due to history! Anyway tht one lasted 8 days so hoping third time lucky! But I think it's your body getting back to normal cx
