How much is too much after c section?

I’ve booked an appointment to go and have DD registered next Tuesday, it will be exactly 2 weeks since having a c section. It’s about a 20 minute drive and provided we can get a decent parking spot outside then a short walk into the building.

I wrote a post about how paranoid I am about breaking stitches and being frightened of the recovery and now I think even though I feel more mobile and less sore I keep reading about how you should do absolutely nothing for 6 weeks. So would 2 weeks be too soon?

You should be fine although cushion for the car journey between the seatbelt and your scar will help. DD was in special care for 9 days and I was walking about 200 yards down from the postnatal ward every couple of hours. It hurt like hell are times but I did it and was fine as soon as I rested. Maybe bring some pain killers in case you need them.

There's no need to do absolutely nothing - no heavy lifting, hoovering etc. Short walks are recommended. Where I am you have to drive to the midwife the day after you're released from hospital.
