2nd degree tear and episiotomy

I gave birth 4 months ago and it was quite a traumatic birth. I was induced due to pre eclampsia at 38 weeks and contracted sepsis when in labour so my LG was delivered via forceps as she was in distress. It was going to be an emergency c section but I was already dilated to 10cm. So forceps was decided. They cut me and then discovered I torn as well, both have heeled well and luckily not had any problems with the stitches.

However since my labour I've suffered with chronic constipation and been impacted twice. The last time was around 3 weeks ago and I was starting to worry about a prolapse as I felt heavy down there. Ive felt it myself but can't feel anything.

I've just had a GP appointment and she's checked both my vagina and bum and they are fine. I feel abit stupid going (was originally about the constipation) but I got upset as I daren't have sex anymore which is getting me down. Ive had sex once around 2 months ago. She explained that it will feel different due to the cut and tear but everything is fine down there. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this? I think I'm just worked up as I've convinced myself since the last time I was badly constipated 3 weeks ago, I've got a prolapse. I can't explain it but it feels like there is something heavy down there and that something is just going to fall out.

Is this just a normal feeling which I haven't yet got used to? This is my first baby so I'm not sure how it's supposed to feel down there?

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Hi there, I'm in a similar position...horrid forceps birth too and 3 months PP. Too scared to try sex as things are still quite sore. Looked in the mirror and my urethra opening is where my vagina should be, so that's a clue there might be a prolapse going on. But I don't have sympoms...

Going to the doctors next week. If yours has told you all is good, there's no reason to think otherwise. Have a look in the mirror to check maybe? And do loooots of keggels!

Apparently most women who have a vaginal birth get some degree of prolapse and never notice as it gets fixed by keggels and is not usually bad enough to cause symptoms.

I know how stressful it all is. Next time I'm going for an elective C-section!
