Just that really- 7 days post partum and still very sore. Can’t stand for longer than 10 mins and also feeling still quite swollen. How much longer?! Thanks Grin

I smothered mine in sudocrem (checked with midwife first!) and it was reasonably healed after about 2 weeks. Bloody effing sore for the first week though!

Congrats on your baby Smile

Bathe with a couple of drops of tea tree in Bath? Pelvic floor exercises helped heal quicker. Stimulates blood flow and repair to the wound. Although i could feel my pf for a couple of weeks.

I'm 11 days post partum and had a second degree tear, it was very uncomfortable and swollen until about 2 days ago I would say. Its still fairly swollen but no where near as uncomfortable now. Everyone is different, but I would say you should start to feel better soon 🙂
I had a 3rd degree tear with my first yet that didn't give me as much pain and discomfort as this 2nd degree tear has, which makes no sense lol.

Mine felt horrendous for two weeks but then I also had an whacking great bruise. Make sure you are dosed up regularly on ibuprofen and paracetamol. I found that sitting with a frozen bottle of water between my legs helped loads and side feeding took the pressure off when sat down. All healed by six week check.

Hi I had a second degree tear and also an episiotomy which is probably why it took a while to feel better. The first two weeks were awful, a lot of pain and discomfort standing sitting everything. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen for first two weeks then slowly lessened the doses as it started to feel better. My husband also got me a postnatal cushion I think that's what it's called, it's basically a doughnut shaped cushion to sit on.
I would say mine felt better after about 6 weeks though.

I swore by witch hazel- in my bath, on a pad put in the freezer, applied directly at the gel.

Really helped my bruising go down and felt much, much better by about 2 or 3 weeks.
