The woes of stretch marks!

I gave birth to a pretty big baby 6 weeks ago, my bump was enormous and I put on a lot of weight due to SPD preventing me from even walking. Now I’m stuck with lashings of stretch marks, over my tummy, thighs and hips.

Despite creaming myself (bio oil or coco butter) every day in the pregnancy - I’m covered. I know it could be so much worse but I’m still finding they have really eroded my self confidence and I get upset every time I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror ☹️

I’m pretty sceptical that anything will remove them other than time... but thought I’d ask anyway... bio oil just a fad or do you think it really helps hide them? Or any other good solutions you found?

Thank you!

Time!!! They really do fade and look so much better!!! They don’t disappear but they look significantly different in 6 months!
Don’t waste your money on anything other than a nice body moisturiser and drink lots of water to hydrate your skin!
Congratulations on your baby! Your body has done a wonderful thing! Have a look at the new Mothercare campaign to have more realistic body image post birth!
I felt better seeing women more like me! X

I've heard that putting slatherings of breast milk on them helps them fade faster... but also keeping super hydrated.

I had the exact same problem! Loads of stretch marks which at the time were bright red and purple even my skin was lumpy. It really got me down. 5 months later they have disappeared so much can't even see some of them on my lower belly any more. Every now and then I catch myself in the mirror and think wow they really are disappearing. Trust me they really do get better with time. I moisturise which I think has even helped my skin go smooth again Smile congratulations on your beautiful baby it's all worth it!
