When will the aching stop?

I'm early days at the minute (DD is only 9 days old) so not expecting miracles just yet- just curious.

I had a straight forward birth, only getting a labial tear and no need for stitches.

I have noticed over the past few days, all of my aching has now moved to the front of my foof (feels like it's behind my clitoris etc.) and it's not so sore at my actual vaginal entrance. It's making standing and walking quite uncomfortable after a short amount of time as everything aches and feels heavy.

I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen, using witch hazel in my bath and on my pads, and have started using frozen witch hazel pads too. It doesn't hurt when I'm sitting down.

I try to do as many pelvic floor exercises I can, and I can only seem to do these sat down at the minute.

Anyone else experienced this, and how long should I expect it to last?

Have you told the MW OP and has she examined you? Smile

If you can self refer to the obstetric physio I would. We have up to 10 days postpartum to do that here, and it sounds like it might be worth seeing them for a session and seeing what they say. Impossible to tell if it’s something or nothing from here

Told midwife (we were discharged yesterday) and she said it was most likely just bruising from the fact everything had stretched down there.

I just didn't expect the pain to be towards the front, and was expecting more around the entrance.

That’s what I mean - for me pain at the front was an indication that I had stretched my symphysis pubis. I didn’t have any pain there before delivery and had physio after. That was an instrumental delivery but I don’t think it would be impossible for other deliveries.
