No appetite 3 weeks PP

I had my son 3 weeks ago and since he's been born I've had no appetite at all.

I've been EBF since he was born and know how important it is to eat and drink when bf.
I never feel hungry and the thought of some foods makes me feel sick. When I eat I just feel sick and full straight away.

Anyone know what this could be???

Hi op congratulations on your new baby! I often felt like this when I first started bf. Try and make yourself eat, my appetite did come back. I just ate anything I fancied and my dh bought lots of snacks for me to nibble away at! My dd is 5 and half months now, my weight has stayed low. I'm not obsessing but am keeping and eye out as people (including my health visitor warned me about an over active thyroid). It's easy in the first few weeks to neglect yourself, but try and take care. Eat little and often, you'll soon find yourself cooking and getting into a routine again. Hope it all works out for you x

As above op, it could be worth checking in with your gp to see if they want to check thyroid function. I certainly found that compared to being pregnant, my appetite was small after giving birth. Is your baby gaining weight well?

Baby is gaining weight fine. He didn't lose any after birth just kept piling it on. So he must be getting everything he needs from my milk🤷🏻‍♀️

Unsure if it's just my body dealing with the shock of having a baby and everything changing. Will deffo talk to my HV or GP though. Thanks xx
