How long after c section for intense exercise

I'm almost 8 weeks post c section, no issues with healing or recovery. I'm planning on getting back to exercise in the new year but I'm not sure how hard to hit it! I'm going to avoid heavy and high impact until 12 weeks (HIIT classes, weights etc) but should I wait longer? What about spinning as that's low impact? I was pretty sedentary throughout pregnancy so have lost any fitness I had before I think!

I think that's a question for you doctor at your post natal check. It's not something that can be answered here as we are all different.

I was told to stick to low impact exercise and absolutely no sit ups for at least a year. You may feel better and look healed on the outside, but on the inside you have layers of wounds and stitches. That doesn’t heal in a couple of months.

Ages and ages! The only bit of you healed at the moment is the skin. The rest takes a long time. I had complications after but did nothing beyond walking for 6 months. The wound can re open very easily.

Your body won’t let you go all guns blazing, you will find if you have a swim or other low impact activity you will be exhausted. Build up from there. Eleven months doing little really impacts on your fitness. Listen to your body

Ok perhaps I need to lower my expectations of what I can do! Maybe aqua fit?
