Formula feeding, how long for milk to 'dry'?

Hi all, not had baby yet (8weeks ish to go!) but for those who have had baby and ff, how long did it take for the milk to 'dry'? I have two boxes of breast pads will this likely be enough? Obviously I realise everyone is different so can't say I'm exact terms but interested to hear if there is an average from other people's experiences?

Also, tips to help stop the production quicker.

Thanks all!

Hi I formula fed from the start, never tried breast feeding. I found that on day three my boobs hurt and were very heavy but day seven all the pain had gone. I found I needed to use pads for a couple of weeks. I had a full box but only used about half of them. I was actually surprised at how quickly the milk dried up actually. It's my first baby so I'm not sure if it is the norm.

Thanks @owlofathena, it's too much of a taboo to be able to ask midwives or anyone in real life as you just get 'oh you should at least try bf first before formula' and not actually answer the question!

i formula fed from the start too and i didn’t need any breast pads at all. they felt full and sore for a few days from around day 3/4 and i slept in a bra for a good couple of weeks because it was comfier but i never leaked or needed breastfeeding pads.
