When will I stop looking pregnant?

I’m 6 months postpartum. 5 foot 7 and 10 stone 4. I’ve lost all but 5lb of my baby weight but I still look pregnant. I bought some swimsuits for my holiday as I’m not confident showing my stomach but when I tried them on I looked awful. My stomach protruded out and I looked the same as I did 4 months pregnant.

My other half says I should give myself a break, that I’ve not long had a baby and look great. I know he’s right but I want to feel confident on the beach. I do 2 exercise classes per week specifically for new mums, and I’ve recently started doing ab routines from YouTube specifically for postpartum abdominal separation. I eat healthily and we cook from scratch (but do have treats at weekend). I’ve got 16 weeks until my holiday. If I keep up the exercise, am I likely to see a big difference by then?

I'm 4 months PP, and my tummy still looks quite big, especially in tight clothing. Unfortunately my body is no Kylie Jenner! Lol!

I've just come back from holiday and I wore a tummy control swimsuit from M&S. It certainly helped give me a bit more confidence being around the pool. In sorry I haven't got any advice about work outs etc. but just enjoy your holiday with your baby!

Xx

Look into diastasis recti. This is where your stomach muscles have separated and can have the effect of making you look pregnant still. If this has happened you need to look at correcting it before you continue with traditional abdominal exercises as they can make it worse. If you have a good postnatal exercise class near you they should be able to help (ask about their approach to diastasis first) or failing that a womens health physio could give you exercises to work on this.
