I had my baby 2 weeks ago today and I had to have an ECS after a failed induction :(

Everything was going well but I have got some lumps on my C section scar and just wanted to know if anyone else has had this and Will it go? I'm seeing my midwife on Thursday so I will ask her but I'm a little worried! and not sure if I should book to see the doctor

Thanks

I have some lumps under my scar but then I had complications. Give your midwife or postnatal ward a ring tomorrow and they will be able to help.

Im sure mine felt lumpy to start with but do get checked. Gentle massage will help it heal.

I had a lump about the size of a small conker on one side under my scar - out of three midwives who saw me and checked it, two said was fine and normal, one said get GP to check they'll probably give me antibiotics as a precaution. As it wasn't red/angry/sore/hot I left it and monitored myself (maybe not the best thing but I was keen to avoid any precautionary antibiotics as the same midwife said they would affect my milk supply and I was already struggling with that at the time).

All was fine, is gradually shrinking and went within a couple months, likely just part of healing / fluid - however if you're in pain or it's red/angry/hot then I would defo get checked out in case of infection.

Mine felt lumpy and very alien to me. My mum (health professional) told me to get used to touching it and once I got go ahead from midwives to massage it with moisturiser, it doesn't feel lumpy now. Although I can still feel an internal scar and an external one. The ends of the internel scan did feel think I assume as that's where the stitches were tied

I think if you can feel lumps you're doing well. I couldn't have touched mine at the two week stage, but I was cut from hip bone to hip bone due to some complications. Took me a week just to look at it in the mirror.

If you're worried give them s call, if not, show the midwife on Thursday. If it's not increasing in pain I wouldn't worry.

I'm of the opinion that if you're concerned about your health in any way in the first six weeks go straight to your gp.

However, you just had an operation. Your insides have been ripped apart and someone has had a good old rummage so there will be ALOT of bruising and inflammation and generally your body knitting itself back together.

I'm generally still a bit lumpy under my scar and I had mine 10 months ago. Still twinges, so I'm assuming I'm still healing. I also image I've acquired an impressive amount of scar tissue under my akin.

Tis a bit of a bugger, going through an induction only to end up with a section. I felt like I'd been through the absolute wringer! Take care of yourself (and get others to look after you - you shouldn't be lifting a finger) and congratulations on your baby!

Thanks everyone for your advice! It's just hard to know what is normal and what is a course for concern!

I'm not in any pain at all so I guess that's a good sign but I have got a red patch on part of the scar! Think I might make an appointment to see my Gp just incase... I've already had to go back into hospital once due to gastroenteritis so I don't want to have to go back in for any other reason! Better to get it checked out :)
