Hi all, new member here and quite a tmi thread sorry Blush
I wonder if anyone else has a prolapse after the birth of their baby. I have a rectocele and a cystocele. (Bowel and bladder) this can be fixed by surgery but after I have finished my family.
This affects my life alot. I have bowel trouble and our sex life is awful. It is either so very very painful or on the rare occasions it doesn't, I feel absolutely nothing. No pleasure what so ever, I think the nerves are shot.
My question is, I feel somewhat trapped and rushed in that I really want this fixed but this can only be done once I have my family. I only have the one DD and wanted to have another when she is around 2 1/2 or 3. Confused
Anyone else been in this situation? It's really getting me down. Thanks all

I'm only 10 months postpartum but I also have a prolapse that impacts quite a lot on my life. My problem is a little more complicated in that my prolapse is the result of most of my pelvic floor muscles having been detached from the bone as my daughter was born, so surgery can't fix that.
Have you done any physio? Do you have a pessary? Physio is slow going for me but I've definitely seen an improvement in the 6 months I've been going. Your GP should refer you. How old is your baby?

No, no physio has been given and I'm not able to have a pessary as it's too low apparently. Grade 2 for both x

I'm in a similar situation to you...it's tough going when you feel it all the time. Many women report that they become less symptomatic over time but that hasn't been the case with me and it really gets me down. I've been going to physio for 8 months and not feeling any better though my pelvic floor strength is good...you should get a referral to physio as it tends to help.
Sorry not much use, I'm trying to focus on getting a stronger core and hoping it will improve over time. It's so tough because i do want more kids but feel like this is driving me slightly mad already so would be even harder with another child. Also sex it really not much fun anymore like you described . Trying to stay hopeful but it is hard!
