Pain in pubic bone 4 months PP

Hi all,

Has anyone still had a painful pubic bone at 4 months after birth? I'm getting a little concerned that it hasn't gone away.

I have mentioned it to docs and my women's health physio (I have bladder control issues) but they just keep saying wait and see if it settles down.

Sorry for TMI - but it hurts during sex in any position where the friction is on the front of the virgina (so against the pubic bone).

It also sometimes hurts if I've walked a lot.

I did have a forceps delivery so there probably was trauma there but I just would have thought it should have healed by now.

Anyone else had similar and can reassure me that it will get better?

Did you have SPD during pregnancy? I still get pain now 14 weeks PP.

I had spd with DS and had pain in my pubic bone for a while actwards, especially if I'd been walking a long way. Definitely had it during his first 6 months or so and can still get twinges now especially if I've walked a lot. He'll be 14 in November.
So I'd say it is normal but will get better.

Still have this 5 years on. Was told it was spd but physio has recently diagnosed hypermobility. Get to docs and have a physio check you out asap before any more damage can be done. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone. I didn't have spd in pregnancy. This has only developed post labour Confused

I'll mention it again to the docs and see what they say.

I have this and (brace yourself) it's because my pelvic floor muscles had been torn from the bone when my daughter was crowning. You need to see a good women's health physio, or ask if yours is trained in detecting levator damage/avulsion. There is a good chance you might have sustained similar damage, particularly as you had forceps. Bloody things should be outlawed. I'm almost 10 months PP now and even though my damage is almost as bad as it can get, I'm still seeing improvements. Sex has improved since I started on oestrogen cream but still need to use a decent amount of lube and go slowly.
