Broken vagina...I apologise in advance...

I'm so sorry this whole post is going to be TMI...

After having DD 10 weeks ago I've had a few problems with my whole downstairs area. When I'm going for a poo I feel like I have to hold my vagina up with tissue so I can push properly, and 9 times out of 10 the tissue has blood on it after I've wiped.

But the main issue I'm having is that when I pass gas it feels like it's bubbling out the front or getting trapped in my vagina. These aren't fanny farts, they're actually coming from my bum but just going out the wrong way...

Has anyone else had this or can shed light on if it clears itself up? For context I had an episiotomy and 2 second degree tears.

I think you need to go and see your GP. None of that sounds right especially 10 weeks post birth.

halfbuffy · 10/08/2017 20:54

Pastys you are right, I was just hoping to avoid more internal examinations as my 6 week check was horrific Confused

I'm afraid you are going to have to get yourself seen. This could just be everything repairing and settling down. It's possible to develop a fistula which is a connection between the bowel and vagina, or maybe you have a prolapse. I hope you get seen and sorted soon.

Yes, I would definitely be seeing a gp about what you've described. Did you mention anything at your 6 month check?

halfbuffy · 10/08/2017 20:58

At my 6 week check the gp had real trouble being able to examine me as it was so painful. When she did manage to get the speculum in, she did say that she saw a small prolapse (which I had been able to feel), but I was doing my pelvic floors and now I can't feel it anymore so I think it's gone...

I definitely had a bit of what you're describing... I'm 8 months postpartum and up until a couple of months ago I still bled every time I pooped! I had a bad 3rd bordering 4th degree tear and had surgery afterwards. Like you I avoided going back because I couldn't bare to be poked and prodded anymore. I think if there's nothing more sinister going on it could just been that pelvic floor exercises are needed. I'm seeing the doc in a couple of week because it still feels like I'm sitting on something in the bath. Not looking forward to it at all Sad

Ok the blood and pressure when you go for a poo isn't good and should be checked out but this....

....Is very common, I had it for a while after my first dc and am having it again now (I also have a 10wk old). It does clear up. There was a really funny thread about it on here once I'll try and find it.

My bottom burps do that too since I had my daughter - and still do (she's just turned 21!) Horrible isn't it.

halfbuffy · 10/08/2017 21:17

Queenfrog the op on that thread is exactly it! I'm going to go read this for a good laugh...need it after one of said farts escaped me in the middle of a shop earlier while I was sat waiting for DP to try clothes on Blush

It was not quiet...

Nobody warns you about postpartum farting! I was viewing a flat with an estate agent and let rip in the lift. Mortifying

halfbuffy · 13/08/2017 22:51

I did it again today at a BBQ when I bent down to stroke a dog 🙄
