2nd C section recovery, getting back to normal

I'm 14 days PP with my second CS (elective)

My first was an emergency and a bad, bad experience, physically and emotionally so felt like it took my body a long time to recover, so can't really remember the first few weeks of that very well

But with this one I feel probably 80% back to normal now. Other than some back pain and a little tenderness around my wound, which has healed amazingly, I don't really feel like I have to be as restricted on day to day life anymore.

My MW and physiotherapist said not to carry anything heavier than my newborn for 4-6 weeks, which is standard advise, but did anyone else get back to normal a lot quicker?

I'm not talking about driving or doing any really heavy stuff but it'd be nice to start doing more Day to day chores, cleaning etc and taking care of DS1 more like I used to? He's not long turned 2 and DH goes mad when he tries to climb on my knee or pull me to the floor to sit and play but I'd love to do those things already?

Any advice on whether to keep taking it slow or listen to my own body? Don't want to reverse any healing I've already done by getting ahead of myself! But can't wait also Grin

If he climbs on your knee you don't lift him there shouldn't be a problem, again I don't see why you couldn't sit on the floor to play if you're being careful.
Do take it slow, the outward scar heals quicker than the inner and I thought I was fine, did too much too soon and now have some issues from it. There's a reason they say no lifting and hoovering etc, but if you are careful then sitting to play etc shouldn't be a problem.
Congratulations on your arrival! Flowers
