Episiotomy repair and exercise

I'm waiting for a referral to the hospital to assess if I need an episiotomy repair. I don't have pain but the wound hasn't healed - DS is 6 months, and the area is tight, some bleeding and Dr said would had 'broken down.' She thought I might have to have an operation - which I'm assuming would be Fentons Procedure.

I was a bit flummoxed at the time and didn't ask any questions but wish I'd asked if I can carry on exercising as normal - inc weights and HIIT. I'm a bit wary of putting strain through pelvic floor area.

Anyone have any experience?

Michelle Kenway's website might be helpful to you, Aussie physio who knows everything about your pelvic floor. The gynae physios at your hospital should be able to advise you as well.

Thanks for the thanks ! Kenway isn't keen on unmodified Pilates for women with pelvic floor issues, btw.

Ok good to know. I need to have a good read around the site and see if the wound is only skin deep iyswim or functional. I've been doing kettle bells etc and probably shouldn't have been. I didn't realise it wasn't healed.
