Since giving birth 4 months ago I have had recurrent illnesses - mostly these involve just feeling totally wiped out and having a really bad sore throat that even ibuprofen doesn't touch.

I am not sleeping badly (sorry!) so don't think it's this. the other night I slept for 10 hours and still woke up feeling zonked.....

Has anyone else had this? Doctor just tested for iron levels and said this was fine...

Hey I'm not sure but didn't want to read and run. I've been getting ill more but that's because I am hugely sleep deprived so it's not a surprise. If you are getting good sleep I'd visit the docs to rule out anaemia or anything else. Being a new mum is hard work and tiring even if you do get some sleep, so do make sure you're eating enough and well.

Oops sorry just reread about iron! Is there a possibility you might be depressed? That can affect your energy levels.

Thanks for response. Doctor kept asking about that but I don't feel depressed!

Am going to head back this week....

If you are not tired, depressed and Dr only checked your Iron levels which they are saying were fine (ask for actual numbers!) definitely go back for another Iron check and also ask for Thyroid levels to be checked - another common postnatal thing which can cause these symptoms which can often be overlooked by Dr. Lots of information on this forum about it just do a search. Hope you are feeling better soon x

Have you had your throat swabbed? If it keeps recurring it probably isn't going so hangs around making you feel ropy? My cousin felt ropy for ages when her wisdom tooth needed to come out. She basically had a low grade infection for months. (Obviously a different infection but you see what I mean?)
