Toddler post CS

I gave birth by elcs 8 days ago. DH is still on pat leave but will be going back soon.

I have a 2 yo and my childminder was going to look after her ft for a month while I healed from CS and get breastfeeding established. Unfortunately she's now been signed off sick for potentially 4 weeks.

I am wondering whether to get alternative childcare in place or whether to just look after her. I have been feeling fine and although I am not supposed to I can lift her. Am I jeopardising my recovery if I take her on ft? Breastfeeding will likely take a backseat, very hard to feed a baby on demand (long feeds) and meet needs of toddler.

What are your thoughts?

Congratulations on your baby! What hours does your dh work? I was alone after two weeks post cs, but I put my toddler with the childminder three mornings per week. My toddler is very easy in comparison to the baby, so spending time bf etc was not an issue, I felt guilty for not being able to play much though. We watched cbeebies a lot and dvds. I had visitors some days who would play with my toddler or hold tge baby so I could.

What's your long term plan? I'd say ime it's good for the older one to have some time with the cm if they like it tgere, takes, the 9
pressure off you and gives them some fun.

Good luc
