Tips for post natal depression

I've fairly recently accepted that I am suffering from post natal depression, I have no experience of depression previously and I'm a little reluctant to try medication. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice that helped them? I'm trying to get back into exercise but I'm at a loss with how else to deal with it. Thanks

Going on medication can be a short term solution to get you through a tough time. Have you talked to your gp? They might be able to prescribe you cognitive therapy.
How old is your little one? Are you getting enough support from your partner/family? Have you told someone how you feel? Are you getting enough sleep?
Do you want to tell us how you feel? Sharing helps Flowers

Ive spoken with my hv who is speaking to my gp she's recommended cbt for me. Little one is 17 weeks partner is good but I'm not too good at asking for help and try to do things myself so I'm trying to ask for help more! I'm not sleeping at all really lo is still up regularly throughout the night and doesn't nap in the day so that doesn't help.

Thank you for asking it's hard to describe how I feel sometimes I feel ok sometimes I feel like I'm sat in a fog that I can't get out of and just want to lock myself away, ignoring phonecalls etc it's like I've lost all my enthusiasm.

That's a great start talking to your hv.
You must be exhausted though! Can you do take the baby for a long walk one morning so you can sleep in?
I'm terrible at asking for help but remember that most people will be delighted to cuddle or walk your baby while you recharge your batteries. Flowers
