Is it normal to still have a little Buddha belly 4 months after birth? I think I must have some form of diastasis and am tortured by pictures online of women with flat stomachs. What is normal?

Hi
During pregnancy your abdominal are stretched to it max and in some women they may tear which results in your belly not returning to how it was before pregnancy.
Try sleeping on your belly it helps alittle.also try and remember each women is different and every
Woman responds differently to pregnancy.

A midwife should have diagnosed a distasis, if you have one. Most people have one to be honest but' if it is significant you may need physio to help it to close.
My belly has never been the same again and although my distasis has closed my belly button still protrudes after years.

First pregnancy I had a wee pouch for a good six months as I gained a lot of weight.
This time my tummy is fairly flat after two months. Still feel the skin is a bit loose and lack of tone but I don't feel I have a 'bump'.

Try lying on your back and raising your head slightly while feeling your muscles and see if you can feel a gap x

Do get it checked out if you think you have a problem with the muscles. My stomach muscles parted when I had my first DC but it went undiagnosed for years. Back pain and muscle wastage were the results.
