Just a suggestion and think £10 is sensible. Are we doing gifts for mums as someone mentioned earlier that DC will have loads of stuff coming through.

I have to admit though, I've never done a secret santa so have no idea how it works! I suppose it will become clear as we go on!!

Budget and date sound reasonablr to me. Fab idea, AL,and thanks to Mr Yorky

Fudge mr Yorky will send each one of us someone else's details and we send them a present anonymously- so everyone gets something and gets to send something, but nobody knows who sent what to whom. It's great fun

Have e-mailed Mr Yorky now.

Is the 'closing date' the date Mr Yorky will organise it and send us our recipient - or the date we need to get the present in the post?? (Am a litte confused )

And just to confirm, is it presents for mummies?

details to Mr Y by 31st October.

Mr Y sorts out the swaps and sends details by mid November.

Gifts to be posted by 11th December at the latest as this will be well within last posting dates.....

...or maybe not assuming this postal strike is still going on? It isn't affecting us here in Leeds but I know a few places where it is a problem.

oops also should add that maybe we should let Mr Y know of any allergies etc in case people are thinking of sending smelly gifts or edible ones!

Agree with Daisy about letting allergies be known in case on nutty/lactose people and posh chocs for example.
What bout handmade/crafty gifts?
They're harder to price but you know what you're happy to give/hope to get?

Well I am very very happy to receive a handmade/crafty gift, its a lovely idea. But not too send one - I wouldn't want to put anyone throught the dissapointment - I am not at all creative, the ideas are there just not the ability .

Hello found you ....Can I join in again? I have seriously fallen off the thread but have a good spare 15 mins do decided to try and catch up on all the babies.
Saw Secret Santa - I would love to join but posting to Italy might not be nice for somebody as it is bound to cost more. We should be in the Uk but DH has work problems.
Plus I could send the gift back with mum so it will be posted from the Uk so you won't know its from me !!!!!!!!!
Let me know before I email Mr Yorky ....

Now off to find the other thread I hope it is still going so I can see what everybody has been up to .

Handmade sounds fun, not sure what I would give though. But will be fun to think of something.
