New thread for all

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Nova good news all round then as T got two sessions at the school nursery this week for September, the nursery waiting list is actually closed till 2010 so was well pleased to get a place.

Right ladies have just spoken to the wise one (Chacha) and promised her that the London meet up saga is at an end, I'm sure you've all seen Dieges posts on the ttc thread and its water off a ducks back now i've had my say so I've promised Chacha it will not be mentioned again or we'll be in fear of losing her too.

Heres to the surviving memebers of the Nov '05 Clan

Evening ladies,

Thank you all for the book lists, I am going to have a look at some of the mentioned titles now, nice to hear different approaches to reading.

I am so glad BTKS that you made your apologies and tried to do what was right for the sake of our friendships/thread, unfortunately for us all it wasn't to be but true colours have most definitely been shown. Feel a bit sick to have the 'Londoners' mentioned as btards and twts by total strangers and people who only know one side of the story. I'm so sorry that this has been said and such horrible, nasty comments made. I will leave it there, hopefully those wallowing in self pity will enjoy the newly found attention. So glad i didn't make the meet up, am actually glad Twinkle didn't make it either for the sake of her babies and the chicken pox but unfortuantely not all people view life in this way. For me, a blessing in disguise.
I'm sorry Beks that i said so much about calling it a day and letting it go, but you did the right thing honest. Chin up.

Another new thread perhaps?

The all new November 05 thread me thinks!!

mypandasgotcrabs · 24/04/2008 19:46

I think that's a very good idea ChaCha, but lets wait a day, to make sure there's no backlash from the ttc thread.

ChaCha · 24/04/2008 20:04

Hi Panda, hope you're doing alright. I will post again at a later date anyway if and when it all dies down. I was alright keeping quiet and waiting for everything to settle down but not for direct bitching and name calling - bang out of order, don't like it and won't be part of it. Have had my say, for BTKs sake and those who attended meet up more than anything, being wronged is one thing, letting other people slate you something else.

Please take into consideration am 6 months pregnant and highly emotional - can't take what i read.

Love to all x

mypandasgotcrabs · 24/04/2008 20:58

happy new thread

feetheart · 24/04/2008 22:09

Hello everyone.

Brownie - SO glad that your Dad has a diagnosis and that he's home. Pneumonia isn't nice and takes a LONG time to get over but I'm sure you are all hugely relieved.

Panda - poor S, he must be feeling really rough How are you in it all, make sure you look after yourself too, have you got much support around you? I will say it again - poorly children are HARD WORK

AmI - worth telling twice

Actually haven't read the stuff on the TTC thread (though thanks for the heads up text) and having caught up on here I don't think I'm going to bother, life is too short to spend it getting angry. Well done on making the effort you did to sort things out BTKS, thank you for being big enough to try and sort things out for the sake of all of us on here. I too would have been devastated if it had all folded.
Also well done ChaCha on all the 'backroom' chats, if the UN ever need an envoy I'll do you a reference

As for books - Giraffes Can't Dance and (any)Hairy McClary have already been mentioned but they feature highly on our list as do:
Commotion in the Ocean
Rumble in the Jungle
Pants
More Pants (all Giles wotsit!)
There's a House in Mummy's Tummy is another great one from him for the situation you are in now ChaCha!
Gruffalo
Gruffalo's Child
The Very Hungry Caterpiller
Kipper's Toybox
The Blue Balloon
Hippos Go Berserk

We have books in about 4 different places in the house all at child height. Maybe we have been lucky but each of them have only defaced a book once so far though A was more prone to chewing them than T! One of the bookshelves is halfway up the stairs and I often find one or other of them sitting on the stairs 'reading' quite happily on their own.
Nova - we worried that we weren't reading to A as much as we had to T and that we started reading him a bedtime story much later as well. What we had failed to realise was that he had been listening in to a lot of the reading we were doing with T and loving it even if he didn't understand much. Now his love of books is just as great as hers (and mine and DH's) though he is the only one who insists on sleeping with his bedtime story book

Sorry for the epic, good night all, hope S sleeps as well tonight as he did in the day Panda

AmIWhatAndWhy · 24/04/2008 23:19

Nova AmI is good

I am really angry and fear I let my hands run away with me and posted too much on that thread.

Never mind, I mean it all. Lets hope thats the end of it and business as usual tomorrow?

Hope you are all well. This nastiness has reinforced how much you all mean to me, we have been through so much together so it's so sad when nastiness like this happens.

BrownieBells · 05/05/2008 21:50

Ok - where is everyone!? I keep thinking that I have missed something and all threads have been removed - is anyone out there.....................?

Think Nova you might be at the beach house, yes?
Where are the rest of you!?

Good news is Dad is now very much on the mend - tho still not up to having T on his own (as you know he is a main part of my child care) so FIL and his wife (MIL2, rather than dh's mum (mil) iyswim!?) have got him again - they are true stars - tho they say that it is there pleasure and always thank me for letting them have him for a few days!? bless!

So what have you all been up to this bank hol then!? we visited a NT property on Sunday and managed to leave before the rain started which was lucky - also did a bit of playing in the garden on Sat which was cool.

Have got the munchies - so off to find something to troff on!

Night all - if you are there!

B
