Hi hoping for recommendations for babies with Eczema

  • which baby bath wash to use
  • which baby creams etc to use
  • any tips to keep the eczema rash low/at bay, general tips?
  • Good sources that helped you?

Thanks in advance!

Honestly we went through over a year of prescribed and non prescribed creams and washes but it wasn't until we cut out eggs that it subsided - and did so about 4 days after cutting them out after months and months of battling.

I would always try and find the underlying cause which is often food allergy or allergy to an environmental source like washing powder or pets.

ziaja atopic body lotion is excellent. applied daily it’s very good at maintaining the skin barrier to help minimise use of steroids. Agree with pp about foods but can sometimes be hard to identify the culprit. Maintaining the skin barrier may reduce development of further allergies later on.

Salcura bioskin junior rescue cream worked miracles for us. Washing wise, don't bath them every day and don't apply things directly to the skin. Bath in just water or a bit of gentle bubbles. We used child's farm.

You have to be really careful not to let any food touch the skin, if it gets through it could cause an allergy. This can happen really easily. I used to eat boiled egg then touch my baby and she developed a life threatening egg allergy.

So any moisturisers need to be hypoallergenic and absolutely nothing with a a nut or sesame base.

Truthfully, most moisturisers are the same and the PP gave the best advice of looking for the underlying trigger. Are you breastfeeding? If so she may be reacting to an allergen in your milk like dairy or egg.
