Getting pregnant post partum

So I have read pretty much everywhere that you can get pregnant as little as 3 weeks after giving birth. I can't work out of that means ovulation can happen that early or if you can't get pregnant before 3 weeks

My partner and I had unprotected sex at 18, 19 and 20 days post partum (18 being 11 days ago) and I have been super nauseated for 2 days now (I've had very early and very severe morning sickness in my 2 successful pregnancies) and the nausea is getting worse

We then decided we should actually not be doing that as pregnancies that close together can cause complications but I'm wondering if there's a chance it's a bit late for that

I express some milk for the baby and use formula at night. There's no latching on of the DD

I'm not keen on doing a test this early in case I have old hormones kicking around from my last pregnancy

We're also looking into the copper coil until we're ready to have another baby but of course if I'm pregnant that changes things 😅 we're limited in our options for birth control because of reactions I have to them so it's either that or latex free condoms which have been a massive failure for me in the past 🤦🤦

I'm struggling to find useful information on this so if anyone has any advice or would be greatly appreciated ❤️

I honestly don't know how early you can get PG but I do think they BFing only works if you are pumping/feeding in the early hours. I think once formula is introduced this can also bring back fertility.

Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows more Smile

I am not sure what you want advice on?

If you don't want to be pregnant stop having sex!!

Contraception- could you try a mirena? Downside of copper coil is it can make your periods heavier and the egg may get fertilised and then not implant so I'm not sure if you may get a few days of "morning sickness" if/when that happens.

Yes you can ovulate very quickly after giving birth and actually be hyper fertile!

Surely by now though it could tell you if you were PG?
